Spring is coming! Take note of a few changes...

We are now open for registration for the spring 09 sale!

Just go to http://www.dudsfordoodlebugs.com/ and click to register as a New consignor or returning consignor. If you can not not remember your consignor number and/or password let me know and I will retrieve it for you.

For the first time, we are limiting the number of consignors for the sale. This is simply because we want to make sure that we have enough volunteers and enough time to get all items on the floor properly.

We will also have the building for an additional 2 days. This will give us more time to get set-up and an extra day to sell your items!

Mark your calendars! We will start drop-off Saturday (20th) at 2pm. We will open again Sunday (21st) 10-8. Unless prior written permission is given to a consignor, we will accept no items on Monday (22nd). Instead we will use this day to set up. If this poses a problem for any of you (you will be out out of town or have a scheduled surgery or some other conflict that you are aware of now) please let me know ASAP so that I can try to make other arrangements for you.

Our pre-sale will begin Tuesday (23rd) at 1:00 for our volunteers that work 20+ hours. See our web site www.dudsfordoodlebugs.com for more shopping times. Reminder- if you have a ticket that says ou shop at 1pm, it simply means that you can not shop earlier than 1pm- your ticket is good for any time that we are open that day. If your ticket says 4pm, it means you can shop anytime 4pm or later. You do not have to be there at 4pm (but I recommend it for the best deals!). Reminder- no children will be allowed on the floor during the pre-sale (other than quiet nursing babies). Please make arrangements now for a spouse, grandparent, neighbor or babysitter to watch your child while you shop. Or maybe you have a good friend that would swap childcare with you- she shops for a while and then she lets you shop for a while!

One more Very Important Note- mark your calendars!!! We will cut off all entered items early this year. Monday, March 16th at 10pm will be the cut-off for all entered items. I realize this is in the middle of spring break for most of you. Please use the holiday on January 19th, prior weekends and nights to enter your items if you are unable to do it during the work day. The items will need to be entered and tags printed. You can pin the tags on the items, etc later if you want- but the items must be entered into the system by the 16th. If you have any questions about this, please let me know. We are requiring this so that we can make sure that we have plenty of volunteers scheduled to help with set-up.

Many of you have asked if we will accept all seasons of clothes this sale. The short answer is yes, we will. However, please keep in mind that fall/winter items will likely not sell well. We ask that you keep them at a minimum and bring only the nice items that you feel will truly sell. Personally, I will pull out only a few things that I am certain Madison will not be able to wear next year and will sell for a higher price (I will not put in any discount or dept store items).

Moms to Bee Registration and Contest!

MOMS TO BEE SALE. Do you have a friend that would be interested in shopping at our Moms to Bee Pre-Sale? We have a special time for expecting mothers and mothers that have had a child or adopted within the last 12 months- October 2, 2008 starting at 10am. Registration is required. Details can be found by clicking here-.

The registrant can bring one guest (Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Friend). We ask that no children (other than nursing babies) are brought to this pre-sale.

EARN A GIFT CERTIFICATE. If you get 3 people to sign up for the new mom sale you will earn a $10 gift certificate. So be sure to tell your friends at your playdates, church, school, work and anywhere you see an expecting or new mom. This is their special time and we would not want anyone to miss out on these deals!

PURCHASE A GIFT CERTIFICATE. Also, gift certificates are available by calling or emailing us. If you have a friend or relative that is looking for that perfect baby gift, be sure to mention Duds for Doodlebugs to them. Or you could ask for a gift certificate as a baby shower gift or birthday present.

LIMITED REGISTRATION. We are limiting the moms sale to the first 100 registered shoppers. So please spread the word! The more moms we have to shop, the more of *your* items that will sell!

CONTEST. Ok- now for the FUN part! I will host a random drawing on August 31 at 11:59. All registered moms of Moms to Bee Sale will be entered along with the friend that referred them. So if you have 12 friends sign up for the sale, you will be entered in the drawing 12 times! The winner will receive one $10 gift certificate for the Fall 1008 Sale!

CAMO CORNER- calling all hunters!

Camo shirts, pants, jackets, coats, boots, hats, chairs, anything that a hunter might need for his next big hunt! We will accept all sizes- including children, boys, girls, men, women.

fundraiser for Ben Prestridge

Amanda Towers is a consultant for The Body Shop at Home. She is doing a fundraiser with their line of Body Butter. If anyone is interested in buying the butter, it is $20 plus $4 s&h and 7% sales tax. There is also a Baby Body Butter.

Calling all volunteers!

Check your calendar and sign up to volunteer for our Fall 2008 sale!
We will need a variety of tasks done before, during and after the sale. Some options include passing out fliers prior to the event, bring food, helping during drop-off, sorting, helping during pick-up and working the actual sale.

Hey everyone!

We hope this message finds everyone well. Thank you so much for keeping us in your prayers. We know that this good news is the result of many prayers that have been answered.

Ben and i are hoping to be able to come home within the next few days. His doctor is now saying that we could do the next round and following rounds of chemo in Hattiesburg, as long as we can find a doctor. So, that is what we are working on now.

His doctor said that it would take a few rounds to notice a change, but we already see a dramatic change! You can't even tell that he has a tumor anymore. It's really amazing!

Everyone has done so much for us, and we are truly blessed. I know that I say that over and over, but I feel as though I can't say it enough. Thank you.

Friends,
We have a fellow Duds for Doodlebugs consignor/volunteer that needs our help. Ashley Prestridge's husband, Ben, has been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer. He began his chemo this week at M.D. Anderson in Houston where his doctors will be giving him the maximum dosage a human can withstand. They went to Houston thinking that they would be there for 10 days or so, but following testing, found out they could be there up to a year, since the doctors here in Hattiesburg are not familiar with the medications he requires.
Amedysis, the company that Ben works with, is hosting a golf tournament for him September 20th at Shadow Ridge Golf Course in Hattiesburg. They are still trying to work out all of the details. If anyone is interested in being apart of this, please contact Sam @ 601-520-8266 or Jason @ 601-543-3536.
Ashley emailed me this afternoon- she just found out that Toyota of Hattiesburg will donate a truck for anyone who makes a hole in one. She is not sure which par, but probably a par 3.

If you are unable to participate, I ask that you forward this on to everyone that you know and especially those that would participate in the tournament.
Let's support Ashley and her family during this very difficult time.
